Our Class & Program Schedule

Safety is our top priority. During extreme weather, we may adjust or cancel hours, programs, classes, and events. If Jackson Public Schools (JPS) close due to weather, YMCA schedules may also be affected.

 

Weather Notifications

Updates will be shared via:

 

• Website: www.JacksonYMCA.org

• Facebook: Jackson YMCA

• YMCA app (enable notifications)

• Robocalls and text messages

 

Schedule Changes

 

• JPS cancels for the next day:

• YMCA opens after sunrise (time announced via notifications).

• Group classes resume after 8 a.m. if instructors can attend; pre-8 a.m. classes are canceled.

• Silver Sneakers and similar classes are canceled. Check youth program status before attending.

• JPS cancels in the morning:

• YMCA may stay open; check for updates.

• Early morning classes may be canceled but resume after 8 a.m. if instructors are available.

• JPS releases early/cancels evening programs:

• No transportation for YMCA programs. Leadership will assess weather and adjust schedules as needed.

• Weekend inclement weather:

• Leadership will evaluate and update schedules as necessary.

 

Pool Policy

​

Pools close if lightning is within 6 miles. They remain closed for 30 minutes after the last sighting.
